Studio Visit: Motion Design GFX Package
Studio Visit
is a digital video series by Complex that takes audiences inside the creative spaces of musicians, artists, and designers. As Lead Motion Designer, I developed the show’s motion design system—crafting visuals that felt personal, immersive, and true to each artist’s world. I designed and animated the logo system, motion graphics, and social assets while collaborating with the video team to align pacing and tone. Using After Effects and Premiere, I built modular templates to streamline production and ensure a cohesive, plug-and-play workflow for future episodes.

Editorial Designs
At the heart of Complex’s digital voice is editorial design that blends journalism with culture, style, and humor. From long-form articles to listicles and series features, editorial designs are tasked with drawing the reader in while reinforcing the brand’s bold, street-informed aesthetic. This portfolio section showcases my work crafting on-brand visuals for a range of editorial stories—from breaking pop culture news to deep dives on music, fashion, and sports.

Plot Twist: Motion Design GFX Package
Plot Twist
is a rebrand of Pigeons & Planes’ Curveballs series, evolving it into a humorous editorial video show that reimagines iconic pop culture moments through unexpected questions and storytelling. As Lead Motion Designer and Animator, I developed the visual identity, motion style, and reusable asset system for weekly production—handling all graphics, transitions, and animation design. Working primarily in After Effects and Photoshop, I built a custom template system to streamline turnaround times, enabling episodes to be completed in under 48 hours. The series quickly became a fan favorite, averaging over 100K views per episode and driving a major boost in engagement across Pigeons & Planes’ social channels.

Social Designs
As Senior Designer and Animator at Complex, I led the creation of social lead designs that served as the visual entry point for articles, videos, and breaking news across platforms like Instagram, Twitter/X, and YouTube. My role involved conceptualizing and executing bold, culturally resonant visuals that transformed complex topics into instantly recognizable graphics while meeting tight, same-day deadlines. Using Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects, I developed motion and static assets optimized for platform-specific formats, blending editorial tone with creative flair. To streamline production, I built a template system and personal visual library that allowed for rapid iteration while maintaining brand cohesion. These efforts consistently drove high engagement, boosted visibility for new series like Sneaker Shopping, and helped establish Complex’s distinct, culturally tuned-in visual identity across all digital channels.

What’s In Your Phone?: Motion Design GFX Package
Get a peek inside the phones of your favorite celebrities! From wild DMs to their most-used emojis, this social series gives fans unfiltered access straight from the screens of their favorite stars. For this project, I created the full graphics package, including the logo animation, animated text message bubbles, and YouTube thumbnails. My goal was to design fun, dynamic visuals that enhanced the storytelling and matched each celebrity’s personality—engaging and playful without distracting from the talent.

Complex Print Issue 2: Social Roll Out
I repurposed and redesigned assets originally featured in Complex Magazine Issue 2 (2024) to create a cohesive and visually engaging social media rollout. My focus was on translating the editorial layout into dynamic digital formats optimized for Instagram, Twitter/X, and other platforms—maintaining the magazine’s visual identity while adapting it for motion and interactive storytelling. The result was a seamless extension of the print feature that captured the same cultural energy and aesthetic for Complex’s digital audience.
